I’m not sure “Doom Emacs from scratch” even counts as a thing, but I’m trying it anyway: copingmechanism.com/2021/doom…

@jack IA Writer is my favorite writing app for blogs and articles. It publishes directly to micro.blog, as you probably know. I’ve asked the guys at Substack if they would set up publishing directly from IA Writer to their platform. That would be Nirvana and I don’t mean the band.
@docuguy :). I've been posting to Ghost with iA Writer lately. It's nice. iA Writer has long been my favorite Markdown editor. I use it when I don't feel like typing in the Ghost post editor. Which is most of the time.
@docuguy Second time today I've seen someone directly mention Nirvana. One of my younger students mentioned them this morning. She had no idea what I was talking about when I said, "Courtney did it."
@jack Does iA Writer work off-line without connection to WiFi? And if it does, how does the posting from iA writer to Ghost work?
@sumudu Yes, it works offline. Syncs via iCloud (but you can use Dropbox). Posting to Ghost won't work offline, of course. The Ghost integration is very basic. You set up the account using a personal Token in Ghost, and then "Publish..." your document. It creates a draft in Ghost, including images, but that's it. No editing later, no categories, featured images, etc. that I know of. I don't mind adding those things directly in the Ghost control panel, though.
@jack Thanks! so the categories and whatnot can be added in Ghost before publishing any posts going from iA writer. Is that right?
@frostedechoes @jack @dgreene196 Category support is included in iA Writer, the instructions for which Manton posted. I haven't tested anything else such as images but will be doing so very soon.
@simonwoods Good to know, thanks!
@jack @frostedechoes Yeah it's definitely on the "hacky" side of things. Hopefully it'll be updated to make the process smoother.
