Gruber being Gruber once again:

What a great win for Margrethe Vestager, making clear to the world that the EU is hostile to successful companies. Good job.

I say: What a great win for the EU, showing big US companies that they can try avoiding to pay their taxes at home. Making money by exploiting EU countries and citizens. Seems people like him think this acceptable over here. Might be best practice in the US. Here, it’s just criminal 🤷🏻‍♂️

@hutaffe agreed. I like Gruber‘s take on most things. But his view on EU policy is mostly misguided.

@hutaffe did you read this from Manuel Moreale? A real gem. manuelmoreale.com/the-eu-vs...

@numericcitizen thanks for the link! He makes some good points. I don’t get why Gruber thinks he has the right or even just the knowledge to explain Europeans why the US is better. Quite frankly, a whole lot of people think the exact opposite. Also, I‘m not sure he realizes or even cares that he has a few readers in Europe. It sure seems like he thinks there’s only one way to live.

@hutaffe I stopped listening to his podcast and reading his blog a long time ago. In general he seems awfully full of himself and radiates a kind of arrogance that's really off putting. Yuck.

@AlexKucera right, he should stay on the technical side of his reporting. It’s fine if he expresses his opinion, others do it as well. But his spin on things and the way he puts it out there is really just silly and offensive.

@hutaffe I do like his take on the mandatory default browser sheet. But that is more of a technical/design note, the thing he excels at. But getting in a huff about his precious Apple having to pay back taxes is just silly.
