Dear Mac nerds, any recommendations on a Mac app for time tracking projects? Only need something real simple that I can start and stop, and also add previous times if needed.

@vincent Never used any but have heard good things about Timing and Time Sink. I'm curious what others suggest

@pratik Time Sink looks nice and simple, plus it's a good price. 👍 Let's see what other suggestions we might get.

@vincent I used Timing and it is amazing! I love being able to go back and assign app usage to projects.

@vincent Daily is a nice app for time tracking. It’s available as part of Setapp if that’s of interest.

@vincent Setapp is really convenient. If you have not heard of it already, you should check it out.

@lukebouch I love the concept of Setapp, but I choose my tools carefully and am not one to switch away and use a lot of different software. I’d rather just buy them and be done (because I know I’ll have that version for life).

@vincent yeah that is a good point. I do buy a lot of software but most of the subscription based apps are included with Setapp (like CleanMyMac).

@vincent I use Harvest with a new project I've been working on. They do have a free limited tier. Sits in the menu bar and is super simple. I've never enjoyed time tracking, but this makes it quick and easy.

@hutaffe giving Tyme a try now. Great little app. Too many features and the way you have to set up projects and then a separate task is weird, but I like the minimal interface in the menu bar.

@vincent yeah… they have a problem like many others: need more team/company features, invoicing etc. You can strip some things down though. I can see how it might feel too complicated… I just got used to it 😅
