@hutaffe This is similar to my own feeling right now. Honestly, I'm at a point wherein not using Apple basically means not using anything. That's especially true for smart-watch, ear-phones, and smart-phone; I have a contingency plan ready to go, although I'm even beginning to think of it as my gradual retirement plan from all of this hyper-connected tech.
@simonwoods it’s a mixture of excitement and disgust. I‘d like to go barebones and not rely on any of these services and the seamlessness. But I’m not sure it’s worth all the trouble. But it’s good to have a backup plan, I should do that too. Apple‘s clearly turning into the wrong direction lately more than ever. I might be able to accept that and weigh the pros and cons, but at a certain point it tips over. It’s no Facebook of course, but everything around it leaves a foul taste at the moment.
@hutaffe We've definitely hit a point where it's just common sense to put a lot of mental scaffolding around this tech. It's important to ask wuestions such as "What do I need?" and then decide on that and no more.
