I thought I’d just try out this 12.9” iPad Pro. ”It’s too big” I thought… well… I think I’m in love with this thing 😱 Yes, some stuff is still cumbersome. But the bigger screen makes these things a little better. And that screen… oh my! What an awesome piece of technology!

@hutaffe Interesting to hear! I have the original 12.9 and I’ve been thinking I need to go with the 11 because I don’t use the 12.9 because of weight and size a lot. But I’m thinking I’ll have to go try them both out in person.

@EddieHinkle Without the case it’s incredibly light. The case doubles it though. But I really want to work on this thing and the extra space helps a lot. I also like the keyboard much better than on my MacBook 🙃

@hutaffe Ohhh yeah, the old case was pretty heavy to. I leave the case on all the time, so I definitely probably better test them out in person first.

@EddieHinkle I don’t know about the old cases, but this one is pretty easy to get off and on quickly with the magnets.

@hutaffe That’s good to hear! The other one is technically easy to get off, but putting it back on wasn’t always 100% reliable and the more you did it the easier it broke down over time.

@hutaffe Am more or less iPad only, and for the past few years have been such with the 12.9. I’m looking forward to upgrading to the smaller 12.9. But, capabilities are only limited by my imagination or the stubbornness of a few companies. Glad to hear another enjoying exploring computing w/an iPad.

@Avancee coming from the Mac it really does feel like working with handcuffs sometimes. It‘s capable of doing anything, but there are tradeoffs. Everyone has to decide what’s the right thing for them, but there’s a fun part about iOS and the portability.

@hutaffe Oddly, my main issue is the time from end of build to actually being able to run it. Waiting for simulator startup, not having a scroll wheel on lists, things like that.

I guess the rest feels mainly like Classic Mac, just while being limited to system API.
