It’s been a long time since I dated. I used to wonder if people had “Googled” me. If I were dating today I’d be concerned whether people had personal information about me derived from their employment with a major tech company.

@danielpunkass I was under the impression that people didn't really date anymore, they just "tindered"

@danielpunkass This is one of the (many) things holding me back from even trying.

@dori @danielpunkass That’s why I date other crazy artists and book people. (Back in 2014, I managed to date two women who still used flip phones). 🙃

@Bruce 😁 I loved my flip phone until it blew up. Probably my most treasured posession for while.

@matpacker I've got a whole host of stories from my online dating days : ) but I was a bit earlier than Tinder. Did you ever hear of POF (Plenty of Fish)?

@hollyhoneychurch Nope, not heard of that one. My earliest, and pretty much only, experience with online dating is an Australian website, RSVP. I had about a dozen first dates, no second dates though. I’ve been married for 11 years, so haven’t had the need or desire to Tinder...though I have some friends who do, regularly, and in one persons case, quite frequently!

@matpacker it's so easy now. Like some kind of weird ass sweetshop. I had some odd experiences mainly because every guy I met was overtly feminine?! I seemed to always choose that sort of guy. Maybe it was my search criteria. I think I was in a particularly spiritual phase 😃

@hollyhoneychurch I’m still a big fan of OkCupid—it’s so big that it’s easier to find matches for one’s interests. And the longer profiles do help.

On the other hand, I’m on feeld as well… 😈

@Bruce that sounds like fun 😃 have you got any stories? When I did some internet dating, based on key word searches and profiles I looked at, I always ended up meeting guys who were super camp and that wasn't really what I was after. It must have been because I was searching spiritual words rather than the usual drinking or watching TV searches 😊

@hollyhoneychurch I don’t know if I have that many stories—though my baseline might be shifted pretty far from vanilla. I did have an unintentional run of dating only women who worked in book publishing or libraries. 📚📚📚

I also discovered theatrical storytelling is excellent practice for other scene-based activities. 🎭😈

@Bruce I like your tendency to write in riddles Bruce. I can't work out if you're talking about rude things in the second paragraph. No need to say, I like that being a riddle too 😊

@hollyhoneychurch Nothing rude; more along the lines of the film Secretary. 😈
