Sigh! The crowds have won. Eugen Rochko is considering adding Quote Toots to Mastodon but may let you opt you of people quote-tooting you.
@pratik I really don’t get all the fuss about quoting roots. Seem like Twitter former users trying to change Mastodon trying to “twitterize” it. If I like your toot, why not comment on it and boost it to my followers? Or it is just me, maybe. Anyway, allowing each user to opt in or out of it seems very fair.
@pratik I really hope blogs get back to being more of a thing. In the old times there were comments and pings between sites, and when I wrote about something interesting I saw on your blog, for example, I cited the link among the words of my own text. That showed respect and care, IMHO, besides acknowledgment.
@danielsantos Yup. A link back and acknowledgment was all we expected. It sufficed. I'm sure newspapers did the same too.

@holgerfrohloff Yup. Most of my "blogging" happens on Mb. I moved my "professional" Twitter activity to Mastodon. Mb is more personal.
@pratik I don’t like this at all, it just leaves the door wide open for people’s toots that others disagree with getting dog piled. Just because Twitter had something doesn’t mean it’s a good idea.
@pimoore Yup. The “demand” that he cites is from people who want to recreate Twitter and mostly from people who had large followings.
