@hjertnes I do a similar thing. But I do not bring in my complete timeline to feed readers, that will load it heavily. I just selectively subscribe to RSS feeds I do not want to miss on. Will only think of subscribing to timeline as feed, when it is without replies.
@hjertnes This is a great suggestion. Being in Australia, my feed is pretty dead during the day, then heats up when I sleep. Your RSS feed idea will let me keep track of things better.
@canion With you there. I think we need to figure out the list of folks in non-American timezones — so that our timelines aren’t sleeping when America is 😬
@amit I see that, this is probably one of those things that I do, and like, that most people would not like.
@hjertnes That makes sense. That’s how I use it too! Because I use a Social Reader that allows me to post replies to my website and then send a webmention to Micro.blog to alert it of my response, so I get the best of birth worlds, the RSS reader control but I don’t have to open up Micro.blog to reply, I can do it inline.
@EddieHinkle That’s cool! Have you written about your setup?
@EddieHinkle Nice. If I am correct, you use your app Indigenious? Have you subscribed to the complete micro.blog timeline there? And which micro.blog url do you send webmention to?
@amit Yes, I use Indigenous on iOS which is what I use 90% of the time. But the benefit of the setup is if I’m on my computer I can use @aaronpk’s Monocle web App. (Although I’m looking forward to UIKit on the Mac so Indigenous can be everywhere). I send a webmention ping to https://micro.blog/webmention for every post I write, that way if the post I’m replying to is in the Micro.blog system, my reply appears here.
@amit I’ve subscribed to each user individually in my reader, rather than the timeline. It allows me to group users into Channels so I can prioritize time when I have less and not miss posts from key people.
@EddieHinkle Yes, absoluetely. I do follow a similar process -- have subscibed to the feeds individually which I catchup in Monocle. I post a response to my website, but never send a webmention to micro.blog. So was curious about your process there. And I am still not clear :(
