After a few days, I’ve fallen so in love with the i3 and Workspace setup in Regolith Linux that I’m questioning everything. I need to calm down.

@jack I never tried i3 when I used Linux, but it always had its outspoken fans. More of the attention always seemed to be on similar managers like Openbox, Awesome, Xmonad, and whatnot. What is it about i3 that draws your interest?

@pimoore I don't think it's so much i3 in particular as tiling windows in general. One of the others could be "better" but this is the first time I've tried a tiling WM on a big screen and the default setup in Regolith made it usable out of the box for me. I never felt a benefit on a 14" laptop screen. With 32 inches to work with it's a whole new thing.

@jack Agreed, I never understood the usefulness of tiling on small screens either. It only makes everything you tile even smaller still. When I had Linux on laptop I usually stuck with Openbox if I wasn’t using a full DE (which was usually XFCE).

@timapple That makes sense. I'm just coming to grips with "Workspaces" since I barely use them on macOS. They work better on Linux, so I'm experimenting.
