I’m thinking about the uncertainty that I have, and that I see others demonstrate, regarding social media services. Do I hang on, hoping for the best, or do I cut ties because I can provably show toxicity? If I cut ties, am I abdicating responsibility? How responsible am I?
Is "cut ties" from platform or people?
A platform owned by an oligarch is nothing to fight for because there's nothing solid to gain or preserve. A platform that CAN be owned by an oligarch should be abandoned.
As for people, if I come to think my time is being wasted relative to others I could engage then I cut them loose.
