@issimonwoods So disappointing. I bought a Mac Mini after my first iPod purchase. Music brought me to the platform.

@hjalm I appreciate that I'm not in their target demographic -- not subscribed to streaming, and not interested in mixing my library with their terrible iCloud streaming sorting -- but the fact that the basic file-playing features and associated store do not work well, in 2022, is baffling.

Also, I clicked on one of their gross pieces of adware in said store and was signed up to streaming with no interstitial to confirm the purchase. Pure junk.

@simonwoods @hjalm The Music app is OK. I use it exclusively for Apple Music (no local library) almost all day long. It is slow to load content, but the playback experience is good and the audio quality is great.

@mjdescy @simonwoods Full disclosure: I’m in deep. ICloud Match and Apple Music. I stream all the time. I have a sizable local collection and have made substantial purchases in digital formats. ITunes (now Music) just keeps running more slowly. My cover art changes. Albums are split into two or three entries with what appears to be substantially similar metadata. But I have a really big investment in ratings and playlists. There’s a lot of love there and time invested that won’t export to add value somewhere else

@hjalm I too have had those issues when mixing local content and iTunes Match with Apple Music. You’re right, the Music app has terrible problems there. However, I think Apple Music the only music service that still lets you integrate a local library with the cloud.
