Iām a few days in using my new Fairphone4 running the deGoogled e/os. I had no problem getting it to run on USMobileās 5G. There are three pre-installed apps Iām not using, Mail, Tasks, and Calendar. It was also easy to install a couple of apps I needed. So far I find it charming š
@heyloura oh, Iām very interested in this! Curious to read a long term review. Iād like to get out of the iOS ecosystem a bit, but Iām just not sure about the everyday usage of these other systems. But Iām a huge fan of the Fairphone concept.
@rom Iāve used mobile banking for years. So far Iāve only needed to use the mobile app for check cashing (which I seldom do). Everything else can be done on the website. I just downloaded the app to test it out and everything looks fine š
@heyloura good to know. :) some banking apps are not as flexible - requiring the added āsecurityā of Google Play
@hutaffe Yeah, the concept of the Fairphone sold me when my old phone, a Surface Duo 2, was on the fritz. Plus I donāt mind non-polished tech when I know itās open source from a small team. Which probably means Iām a good candidate for using this phone š Iāll probably have a better sense of what annoys me in a couple of weeks. So far the only hiccup that Iāve really noticed is when I took a phone call while running the maps app it stopped navigating.
