@fiona I’ve got a longer post all about how my site works. But the short of it is that my site supports microformats and micropub publishing contexts. I create my like and reply-type posts using either Omnibear or Quill, both of which are micropub clients.
@eli I tried to do just this myself a couple of ears ago but hit some roadblocks and couldn’t figure out how to get back on track. Wound up abandoning the whole project but I wish I could get it properly going again. Are (many) people using GitHub as a host for micro blogging? So many questions. Hope that wasn’t a stupid one, heh.
@herself not a bad question at all! I don’t know numbers, but from seeing folks write about their setups, I’d bet more folks use Netlify (which I think pairs? with GitHub) than use vanilla pages. Where’d you get stuck? I’d love to try and lend a hand
@herself I’m not sure this is what you are looking for, but you can set up Micro.blog to send your content to Github pages for you.
@eli @ronguest I can’t remember exactly what it was now - I’ll have to haul it all out and have another look sometime. Good to know there are so many people here to ask if I get stuck! Thanks Ron, I spotted a blog post mentioning that too. Now they microblogging is more of a thing hopefully there is more info around.
