@herself I’m very interested in The Thorn Necklace based on your introduction. Carl Sagan wrote about the power of little black squiggles. Terrence McKenna has talked about the power of small mouth noises. Bob Dylan sang about the words of poets from a thousand years before burning like coals with heat and life. Alan Moore says that it’s the responsibility of all artists to hone their own magical craft. I think I’m going to pick up that book because that’s something that resonates with me.

@hjalm I love that; some lovely quotes there too, especially (to me) Dylan and Moore. I held off getting the book for quite a while; how many more books about writing do I need in my life? But so far I am really enjoying it. I love her prose style. She makes you feel like the world is a magical place :)
