Light dinner so we needed dessert! Powdered donut cake from the cookbook Snacking Cakes 🍩 This was a winner IMO. It suggested cinnamon sugar as an alternate topping so I did one stripe to test – tasty but I preferred the powdered sugar 😋

@herself none of the recipes require beating butter and sugar together 😍 Instead they have you (hand) beat eggs and sugar till frothy to start off the mix. I hate my stand mixer and never have room temperature butter so I'm a fan!
@tracydurnell that makes so much sense! I know there's (probably) good reasons for the traditional butter creaming but I agree, it is such a faff! I've ordered a copy of this now... can't wait!
