Apple really doesn’t want you to think that just because they settled the Siri privacy lawsuit that it means they are guilty of spying on you or selling your data. From today’s Newsroom post:

Apple has never used Siri data to build marketing profiles, never made it available for advertising, and never sold it to anyone for any purpose. We are constantly developing technologies to make Siri even more private, and will continue to do so.

Here’s how Siri protects user data.

They go on to detail practices such as using random device identifiers instead of user accounts and Private Cloud Compute.

@help This post was under 600 characters in the app. When I edited it just now on the web, it said 604. But it remains untruncated on the timeline. 🤷‍♂️

@jarrod As soon as we get all the bugs worked out of the web editor, we'll be adopting it across the platform for consistency. The timeline actually has a little wiggle room in the max characters to avoid truncation if it's just barely off.

@help Gotcha! Is it helpful for me to point out the inconsistencies, or is it irrelevant since you’re aiming to rip out the app’s editor anyway?

(Don’t tell me there’s wiggle room! I’ll want to use it! 😅)
