There were some pretty amazing Hawaiian Music singers in 1920-50. Alfred Alohikea, Alfred Apaka, Andy Iona, Bill Lincoln, Ray Kinney, Andy Cummings, Sol Ho’opi`i, George Paoa (the Maui Boy), Mahi Beamer, Bill Kaiwa (the Boy from Laupahoehoe), Lena Machado , Irene West, Toots Paka and many more

@hawaiiboy That was the age of the night clubs. Large or small those clubs had live entertainment and two whole generations were trained in them. Television and the suburbs killed it.

Anyway that’s my theory as to why there was so much singing talent back then.
