Back in the day I could find a live MLB baseball game on any day on either WGN or TNT or ESPN or somewhere else. Now it’s nearly impossible. All about subscriptions and money. Even then, without a cable contract, it’s virtually impossible.

@starrwulfe the challenge in Hawaii is back-outs of all west cost teams. I use MLB audio

@starrwulfe it's aggravated me since MLB.tv became a thing. I always thought blackouts were to nudge fans to go to games rather than stay home and watch on TV. There's large broadcast money at play and Hawaii is just a small market stuck in the middle. Seattle used to be on this list.

Live regular season games involving the following Clubs are subject to MLB.TV blackouts in the specified zip code: Los Angeles Angels Los Angeles Dodgers Oakland Athletics San Diego Padres San Francisco Giants

@hawaiiboy How many would jump on a plane that takes hours, just to see a game, and who would do it more than once? It doesn’t make sense to me.

@odd yep. I’ve gone to Dodger games as part of another trip. Don’t have the means or time to fly 5 1/2 hours each way to see a game.

Every year I hope and wish and dream they change the policy.
