HBO Max, Discovery+ to Merge Into Single Streaming Platform Starting in Summer 2023 Looks like my fears about HBO Max becoming more like Discovery+ were completely warranted. @pimoore I find myself asking that more and more these days. Progress can be good, but only if it's meaningful. This whole thing feels like a bunch of overpaid executives carelessly playing with a new toy they found. Except this toy is loved by millions of people.

@pimoore It's time for me to repeat my Netflix rant! Netflix DVD was the pinnacle of service to movie-lovers: almost any movie ever made, readily available at a decent price. We loved it. Now it's a shadow of its former self, and on their streaming replacement there's much less "content" and they pick what you can watch at a given time. Deliberate destruction of a great service.

@JMaxB Agreed, I dropped Netflix long ago after they jacked up their prices for lacklustre content. No intention of going back, and I literally have no streaming service except TV+ (which is fine since I pay for Apple One).
