@hawaiiboy Nice, at least there’s some good news out of the deal. I don’t know if that’s a typical lifespan for a Kindle device?

@pimoore my previous one was one of the first Kindle models and lasted for years, I passed it on the mother in law, who used until she passed. Had to be at least 10 years. Oh well

@hawaiiboy Wow, 10 years is really impressive especially for one of the earlier generations. If I get an e-reader it will more than likely be a Kobo since it has Overdrive support for our Canadian library system, so hopefully their longevity is just as good.

@Pilchuck @pimoore @hawaiiboy Just checked Flickr to figure out how old mine is, turns out it’s 7 years old. It’s been so reliable I assumed it would never die!
