This experiment of democracy in the US is not looking good. A Government of the people, by the people, for the people. A flight from Tyranny. Not sure it’s going as planned. @hawaiiboy i read an interesting piece today on how the US's "peer" nations aren't the European ones we're always comparing ourselves to, but the other nations in the Americas: same history of colonization, ethic displacement and mixing, slavery, etc. etc. A lot of features of the US that look aberrant compared to Europe are fairly typical of American nations. Thought-provoking stuff. Until recently I would have said that we stood out from them in our political stability, but I don't think I'd say that now.
