@Annie So many men don’t know how to make a sandwich let alone how to pilot a plane. They live their lives through their kids, hijacking their dreams. Like their fathers did to them.
@Annie My kid is “tired” a lot too. It helps to hear how another parent teases out the real feelings.
@davidmarsden It’s such a sad cycle. I have a lot of respect for the men who see it and choose to create something different with their own kids. It’s tough to break patterns but so powerful.
@gregmoore They sure do have a lot to process. Btw, here’s a book that helped me find some practical ways to be a better communicator with my kids.
@Annie Therapy and patience have gone a long way but sometimes emotions are just tough things to parse. I’ll definitely check that book out.
@Annie Yes 🙌🏻 if we’ve done anything good as a culture recently, it has been de-stigmatizing therapy.
