That’s the sort of keynote I like from Apple. Lots of new features for devices I already own, no temptation to spend any money. 👍
I’m glad we got cool stuff like AirPods Pro out of them developing the tech for Vision Pro, though.
@adders I had the same reaction. FaceTime calls on Apple TV was the biggest announcement for my family.
@gregmoore That one is one of the greatest things in the presentation. That and the Journaling app. For HW, I thought the new 15” Air sounds like a good product.
@odd All of Apple's new desktop and laptop announcements today mean slightly older, but still ridiculously capable, Macs are now even more affordable.

As somebody who is happily attached to a desktop the new Air is intriguing, as a little assistant/travel replacement for the main computer.
@adders @SimonWoods @odd I agree that most of the low-key updates were so practical. The new StandBy feature can't arrive fast enough for me.
@adders I suspect that a successor to the 15" Air will be mine some years down the pike. I'm not a "power user," and I just get tired of upgrading computers for the novelty blindingly fast instead of insanely fast.
OTOH, I do go for all the reasonable gusto when I upgrade. (I've never gotten into video editing, so the $5000+ desktops are out of the running.)
@gregmoore Yes, I’m getting a late Intel model later this summer, because everything has gotten so incredibly expensive, but the next one after that will probably be a M-something.
@SimonWoods Yes, I liked that one too! I will probably get the current remote eventually, because the original 4K remote that I have is so annoying.
@ReaderJohn My last Mac lasted five or six years, and I expect my current one to do the same. It’s on 2.5 years right now,
@odd Basically, turn your iPhone sideways and it displays some really nice widgets that turn it into an alarm clock, calendar, etc. I use mine by the bed so this will be a nice upgrade to that experience.
@gregmoore Yes! Now I remember. I had an alarm clock app on my Android phone in like 2010-11 that looked like that, admittedly not as fancy. I also liked the new iPad widgets.
