The number of pyramid schemes you see via adverts on YouTube is staggering. The web is awash with grift.
@simonwoods @vincent Agreed, this is precisely why I use YT in Safari only, with 1Blocker and Vinegar. If only these extensions worked with my cable subscription, too.

@pimoore @simonwoods @vincent Yeah, the combination of 1Blocker and Vinegar is great for watching YouTube in Safari. I've not seen an ad there in so long I forgot ads on videos were a thing. 😂
@Denny @pimoore @simonwoods @vincent Vinegar plus Pihole is my ad-blocking stack. I occasionally see YouTube without blockers and wonder how anyone can use it.
@yorrike @denny @simonwoods @vincent Ironically I watched the YT replay of the Starship launch on my work machine, and its ad blocker is less than stellar. I was bombarded with two unskippable ads that combined were almost as long as the clip. No thanks, YouTube.
