Norfolk Island Pine. San Diego’s moderate climate accomodates plants from many regions. The most surprising transplant to me is this pine from an island 1000 miles east of Australia, roughly the same north of New Zealand. The branches are springy, dense, almost fuzzy.
@cliffordbeshers Sumptuous light in these photographs. I love plants like these and can’t help myself from “petting” their branches.
@gregmoore I’ve been thinking about this, because the light was actually quite flat. I realized that these branches and needles always look this way, because they have their shading built in.
