A robin was hanging out in my back pine tree this weekend. I managed to get one closeup. The robins confused me when I moved here because I did not know their habitat included the west, and they look different than their east coast cousins.

@cliffordbeshers Very beautiful. The layers of bokeh makes this more intimate than typical photos.

@gregmoore Thanks. There is something about the low light that contributes to that, I think. I resisted the urge to push the histogram. It leaves things barely visible in the thumbnail, but I really like the effect in the enlarged image.

@cliffordbeshers Sharing photos on the internet definitely is a double-edged sword. On one hand, the quality doesn't suffer and everyone can zoom. On the other hand, a lot of people decide to view them from tiny thumbnails on their phones.
