Is there a good bookmark managing app that’s cross platform (iOS app and Mac) that just…ya know…saves bookmarks.

I don’t want to see what others are bookmarking or have articles read back to me or have a special reading view or pull videos out or share mine with friends or…

@Mtt Sounds almost totally useless, and completely awesome :).

@jack How does this not exist? Pinboard is the closest thing, but no first party app and rough third party ones.

I’ve tried raindrop, pocket, instapaper, saved.io, pinboard, Pinterest, etc.

@Mtt My needlessly snarky answer is a text or markdown file but, within Apple’s ecosystem, I usually drop bookmarks into a Safari favorites folder knowing it will be automatically synchronized between my devices.

@gregmoore For a while, I used Shortcuts to dump bookmarks into different apps/files. It worked but didn’t really scale well.

And same as you, currently using Safari bookmarks and Safari Reader.

@Mtt My perspective on saving bookmarks changed this year when I opened an old laptop and found a massive bookmark list of old sites I used to love visiting. Clicking through, I quickly realized they were all dead links.

@Mtt definitely seems like a gap. I’m still using Pinboard, though you make a good point about the apps

@mroutley How are using on iOS? If at all? I used to have an elaborate Shortcuts setup with it, but let that die a while back.

@Mtt I’m still using Pinswift, a now defunct iOS app. Definitely not ideal! Raindrop.io is tempting. But, like you, I’d prefer something simple

@mroutley Raindrop is good. Similar to Pocket in my opinion. Just tries to do too much. Even if any of them had a “super basic” mode, I’d be happy.
