I’ve also received my roll of super 8 film back from the lab. Now where could I find a decent projector 📽

@alexsavin Is it worth having that footage digitised? I have boxes of 35mm slides from my childhood that I'd love to have digitised (before the slides degrade).
@pauljacobson it is digitised - check it out (if you like big cities and rivers 😀) youtu.be/Vhz_CUFGW...
@alexsavin Ah, love that. I like the grain, and the film artifacts like the framing, switching between scenes. It looks "old-fashioned”, with a bit of a cognitive disconnect with modern scenery. 😍
@pauljacobson thanks! This my first ever super 8! I’m mostly happy that the camera worked as intended 😂
@alexsavin You know, in 20/30 years, people will see this sort of video in a similar way to how we look at this sort of footage from 20-30 years ago, without that “modern disconnect”.
This reminds me to do more video when I capture moments in our daily lives. There's something about video that enhances the moments we capture, and I can be a little too fixated on stills.
@pauljacobson the iPhone live photo drives me crazy by frequently selecting a bad frame, but when converted to movies they are fascinating.
@alexsavin That is so cool! I'm with @pauljacobson that seeing completely modern images on an old medium is pretty trippy. Modern buildings like the shard make them seem like they were special effects added in post.
