Im hitting a productivity wall with React Native today. Can’t focus on Vorto so I might have to switch gears and work on something else… I might post some screenshots depending on how much progress will be made.

@michal always good to do something else. One of the reasons why I like to keep different projects active hehe.

@vincent I took some time and tinkered with a few mechanical watches I got lately. It was nice to spend some time on something completely different.

@michal I love mechanical watches. For the longest time I wore an Apple Watch (and I still do from time to time) but I'm using a mechanical watch more and more

@greghiggins same here. I have an Apple Watch but quickly reverted back to a mechanical one. Lately I stared reading/researching about Russian and Polish watches. It’s fascinating! :-)

@michal I should look into that as well.

@greghiggins It’s a fascinating rabbit hole. Russian watchmaking was kickstarted by the recession in the US and machinery from the East Germany (post 2WW). Polish watchmaking was based on the USSR licenses but right when polish factories got sophisticated enough to make their own parts, soviets decided to shut them down. Once you get outside of the Swiss watchmaking (pretty unexciting), it’s like assembling geopolitical puzzles of the last 150 years.

@michal Oh wow. I had no idea about any of that. All you ever hear about is Swiss watches and how great they are. I need to read up on some of that.

@greghiggins fun fact.... Swiss watchmaking industry is considered to be luxurious and sophisticated right now... But around 100 years ago they were considered to be knock-offs of more technically advanced and reliable watches from Germany, England, France or the US. They make beautiful watches but aren’t really masters of innovation ;-) And that shows...

@michal that is one of those fun facts that I love.
