@glass The chimney, is it for a decommissioned laundry room/house?

@odd The factory used to make machines for tin can factories. I'm not sure why they left the chimney when redeveloped into loft apartments. The chimney was starting to lose a few bricks about 5 years ago and they took the time to stabilize it in lieu of removing it entirely. A bit more information here: American Can Company Building

@glass Thank you for the link! I read that the developers of the new-purposed project received a grant, and inclusion as a national heritage site. Maybe that was part of the deal, that they keep the chimney (mostly) intact, so as not to lose the feel of the original exterior?

@odd I don't know the details of the deal, but keeping the chimney a requirement for historic funds makes sense. I do know they had to keep the original windows and upgrade them, which was a significant cost as new windows would have been much more efficient in every way.
