I don’t want to subscribe to Dropbox. I don’t want to subscribe to Dropbox. I don’t want to subscribe to Dropbox.

@gdp You’re right not to want to subscribe to Dropbox. Resist. Be strong.

@gdp But do you need to subscribe to Dropbox?

@mcg It’s the most solid multi-device syncing solution available, unfortunately. iCloud Drive is too opinionated as to when and why documents are synchronized. That issue bites me more times than I would like it to. And I was re-installing Alfred yesterday and it specifically requests users not to attempt to sync preferences using iCloud Drive.

@gdp @mcg I tried to save an image on my Mac into iCloud so that I could immediately open it on my phone to show something to my wife and it... failed. Got very confused immediately and I had literally no recourse for forcing a sync or anything.

@SimonWoods In cases like that I use Airdrop to send the item to the phone (or to my partner's device).
