@kev Interesting! I hadn’t heard about the Framework 13 before. I’ll definitely take a closer look — my almost 10-year-old MacBook is hanging on by a thread. Great to have you on Micro.blog!
@kev I was so hyped when I saw you moved to Micro.blog! Im glad you’re liking it over here. It took me a while to get used to actually saying something to someone if I liked their post, rather than just giving them a little gold star lol. I’m curious about the Framework laptops, too. I’ve been using an old Surface Go 2 with Debian for about four years now. My next laptop will likely be a Framework or System76.
@kev : as for your Pixel 9a, have you considered to fully de-google, switching to GrapheneOS?
As far as I can see, it can run WITHOUT GApps...

P.S: I'm an happy user of LineageOS...
@grubz thanks! I’m really enjoying my time over here. Manton has built a great platform.
I’ve never owned a System76, but I don’t like the fact that they’re just re-badged Clevo devices, plus they don’t have the repairability of the Framework. So I’d obviously say the framework. 🙃
@numericcitizen Ive been here a couple months now, but yeah, I’ve tried it before but it never stuck as Fosstodon was my main home on the Fedi. Not anymore though. 🙃
@kev I used to have a tablet, but it ran out of updates and I just couldn't be bothered with it. I've been using Pixels since they were Nexus, and I've always been happy with them. I'm due a new one since my current one is showing its age, and I've been thinking about getting a Fold. I thought about it last year, but ended up not getting a new phone instead and squeezing another year out of my current one. The price is crazy and the cameras aren't as good either, so not sure yet. We'll see.
@mike I don’t think I’ve ever taken a photo on a tablet. I don’t understand why they have cameras, truth be told. I loved my Nexus 7 back in the day. Probably the best tablet I’ve ever owned
@kev Yea, I loved mine too. I can get behind the "selfie" camera. Good for video calls and the like, but the back camera is almost 100% useless in my opinion. I've been interested in the Fold because it gives the tabletish screen size with the phone portability. If I was going to use it as a phone though, I'd want a camera equivalent to the Pro Pixels. Especially at that price point.
