I seem to be in the mood to tinker. After moving Plex a few days ago, today I started switching to Arq for both local and cloud/offsite backups. I like that I can now use one tool for both destinations and on both Macs and Windows machines.

@ronguest do you have your music library on Plex, too? I'm looking for Plex friends! :) (though I still gotta work on exposing my server, gonna be a couple more weeks at least)

@toddgrotenhuis No, I store some music files on the NAS but don’t use them via Plex. I use it mainly for Family Videos, TV Show and Movie files.

@ronguest that’s cool! I get in the tinker mood too sometimes. I’ve always been curious about Arq. Let us know how it goes!

@gannonnordberg I’ve used Arq 5 for a couple of years to do offsite backups to AWS Glacier and I’ve been happy with it. For multiple computers it was a lot cheaper than something like Backblaze and I trusted it more. So I’ve now embarked on it for all backups for Mac, Windows and Raspberry Pi going to their cloud rather than Glacier. I’ll do a post on it soon-ish.
