When did the NFL become like MLB? Lots of trades at the deadline, more than I remember ever happening before. Trades could always happen in the NFL but hadn’t for some reason.

@frankm I think it is easier to plug a new player into a baseball team than a football team, which is why there has been more mid-season trades in baseball than football in the past. Not sure why this changed, maybe there was some really big success by a team and if something works people will copy it.

@klandwehr Most of the trades seem to be for draft picks. It looks like the NFL has picked up on baseball’s buyers/sellers concept to rebuild teams. Given the parity it seems easier to turn a team around with a few good draft picks.
