When is ESPN, amongst others, going to realize Serena Williams is 37 years old and not the player she was 15 years ago? The 6-2, 6-2 victory by Halep was not close. Opponents in big matches are no longer intimidated. Serena is still a top five player but there is no more domination.
@JohnPhilpin I think it will be a tough match for Federer. I don’t know how many tourneys he has played in. If he does win it will be an upset.
@frankm well 5 sets with set 5 going to two match points and a 12 12 tie breaker ... I would say it was close ... not quite the same as 6-2 6-2 ... btw when will the women’s game got to 5 sets?
@JohnPhilpin Better than I expected. I would be surprised if the women’s game went to five sets. A five set match would favor Serena because when she loses it seems to be due to a slow start in the first set.
