Yesterday was removal of about 6000m of old LAN cable from an office that was moved out of. We installed this 20 years ago. ๐Ÿ’ช

@rickcogley I am old enough to have created a similar pile of coax cables to make room for that stuff in the picture.

@frankm ha, I hear you. My first full time job was to install a ring LAN on coax. 1988 or 9?

@samgrover yeah, and, we referred to diagrams that were signed by me and dated 2003 and 4. There were a couple of phases to this install starting on cat 5, adding 5e then two years ago pulling a few 6a drops for new wifi equipment.

@rickcogley It was already installed when I started working at the place in '90, was run for terminals and "word processors." The cable could have been run in the '70s or early '80s.

@rickcogley That's pretty cool to be able to see and reference your own work diagrams. About that time I was working in a networking lab at the university and we were so excited about these cards we could shove into our laptops that enabled wireless networking ๐Ÿ˜„
