The ability to unlock 1Password with a passkey is currently for new accounts only. Next year, we’ll make this feature available to anyone with an existing 1Password account.

I think I understand why .. but there’s part of me that thinks .. so new accounts - but not existing customers?

Then again - I won’t be implementing any time soon anyway.

@JohnPhilpin I've already started using passkey with 1Password for the accounts that support them. I was disappointed to learn I had to wait longer to get to access 1Password itself, but I can wait.

@JohnPhilpin Passkey support for sites other than 1Password work within the app/browser extensions. After you create a passkey for a site and store it in 1Password, 1Password will then use that passkey for future logins to the site. BUT for now, you still have to login to 1Password using your password for it.
