@JohnPhilpin I think part of the problem is the ire is directed at the wrong people. Ted Cruz isn't really the problem, it's the people in Texas who keep re-electing him. Truth is, no Senator has lost an election because he is against gun laws. Until voters in the states change who they vote for, the violence will keep happening.
