The Chicago Cubs is the worst hitting team in baseball, but this shouldn’t be a surprise. @frankm I think there's a larger issue at play with a habit built up from years of slugging that's just been compounding year after year as they try to homer their way out of it. It's probably impossible to judge Ross, but I don't think having a holdover from that team is what they need right now. I'd love to see Rizzo stop trying to pull everything and take advantage of the open sea down the third base line.

@kordumb The league as a whole has changed, but I don’t think successful teams have an entire line up of the same type of hitters. I think an issue with the Cubs is that most of the younger players came up at the same time, and they had more success initially because pitchers didn’t know them. Now pitchers have found their weaknesses and the batters haven’t adjusted after that, which is what good MLB hitters do. Baez, however, seems completely lost. However, given he is a shortstop, I think I am more willing to accept a low batting average from him for his fielding.
