A micro.blog question… how come I can only add categories to posts with titles?

@frankm Seems like a decision in the UI. You can update the category once your short update is published, but I don't think other options appear until you pass 280 characters

@frankm you could create filters that auto tag a specific tile of post. For example, every time I post about a beer I tried, I have setup a filter that every time I post, no matter the length, if it has a beer emoji (🍺), it will assign the beer tag to the post. Does that makes sense ? 😅

@frankm Categories are hidden by default, but you can reveal them like this:

  1. Mac: go to View > Categories when you’re composing a new post.
  2. iOS: tap on the gear icon in the lower right of the “new post” window.
  3. Web: click on the pale grey circle with the three dots, at the top right of the compose field. This will show you the “save draft” and “show categories” options. (This is also where you can switch between blogs, if you have more than one.)
  4. Gluon: tap on the "tag" icon when you're composing a new post.

@rnv Thanks. I was using the web at the time I wrote that and will try to remember. To me the web new post page looks mostly like one large input box until you type enough text that it adds the title and category fields automatically.

@rnv Thank you for this. I need to do more exploring, but this exactly what I needed.
