I am tempted to take some Japanese classes. I’ve always wanted to visit Japan so if I ever go I need to at least understand the basics.

@fozstark is a nice language. I had two semesters of lessons while doing my bachelor's. But it takes a lot of learning to get good at it. I had no chance :-(
We are currently planning to visit Japan next spring. But have no concrete plans yet.
@V_ wow that’s a lot of classes. I had a friend from Japan while attending grad school and she taught me a few words but now I only remember numbers from 1-6 and greetings :/
I also would like to visit Japan sometime next year but no concrete plans yet.
@fozstark I think it sound like more than it actually was I think it was 2 lessons per week for 30 weeks total. It was certainly a good deal as I did not pay separately for these – don't want to think about what these lessons on the private marker would cost me now OO. The only sad thing is that I did not pass the second semester and that I did not retain much (apart from some random numbers, and the greetings – but these I already knew before from anime).
@V_ I found one that is offering 49$ a month with an exclusive community, 30 hours of teaching material, live sessions, 1:1, etc. I speak Spanish fluent and a bit of Portuguese so maybe I can make the effort, see if my mind can take it. I am still considering if it’s worth versus using a phone translator.
