The addition of categories is really fantastic. I’ve gone through all of my posts since joining last year and categorised them, which makes discovery easier in the archive. I’ll be making it a habit to categorise every post from now on. It’s a real advantage over Twitter.
@martinfeld While I agree that it's a really great feature that's amazing to have, it is somewhat representative for my (personal) problem with Micro.blog: is it more of a "Twitter replacement" or rather a classic blogging plattform...?
@flightlessbird That is a really great point and it took me some time to figure out how to use Micro.blog, considering that I have another blog with longer articles. In the end, I decided that it’s both of those things for me, with anything under the ‘traditional blog’ category kept to shorter/lower word counts.
@martinfeld I'm honestly still in that figuring-out-phase, so any experience is welcome. ;) As of right now, I'd like this "blog" to be a place with mixed media types, all with the mutuality of being rather short.
@flightlessbird It sounds like you have the right idea! Also, I originally posted things with titles but stopped doing that after a bit because it seemed to take away the informal tone. It takes time to find the right style.
