@bradenslen We have been working our way through my father-in-law’s DVD collection of Harold Lloyd films during our time at home. The kids love the silent films.

A caution: there are sexist and racist moments. We have taken these as an opportunity to discuss American history.

@fgtech Harold Lloyd films are wonderful, and a great way to explore silent films.
As for the talkies from the late 1930's onward, I think these often get dismissed as being "old" and remain unwatched today which is a shame because many have compelling stories, acting and direction that I find missing in many modern films.

@bradenslen I think maybe even most enjoyable films are from the 30’s and 40’s. I grew up with Harold Loyd films on TV, and it always opened with Loyd hanging by his hands from an arm of a big building clock. It made me uneasy but thrilled at the same time.
