Feeling powerful 😉 I was able to fix the arrow key on my son’s MacBook Air with $12 in parts. The repair shop doesn’t fix keys so it would have been a $400 keyboard replacement. 😅

@fgtech Not sure. They’re Apple certified and in fact Apple sent me there when my iMac had a fan issue. It certainly seems like something they could do.
@ronguest Part of why I asked is that this sounds like other stories I have heard about people visiting Apple for simple repairs and getting absurdly expensive quotes back. I am guessing that Apple has rigid “repair algorithms” and requires they be followed strictly, leading to ridiculous results.
