I got notice there is a software update available for my car. They sent a PDF with instructions on how to do this. 8 pages of instructions. I think I prefer my cars dumb.
@bradenslen If the car is so smart why doesn’t it update itself? Wait — that would be much worse, wouldn’t it?
@fgtech @wilsongis On the one hand, I'm glad the software can be updated. This update includes improvements to Apple Car so that's nice, because cars last a long time. OTOH I've had enough computers brick themselves during OS updates to be cautious about doing this myself. I'm thinking this should be something the dealer service department should be doing when I come in for service and I'm going to discuss that with the dealer.
@bradenslen Good plan. I’m pretty sure our Subaru dealer handled a similar update as a “tech bulletin” applied during a regular visit.
