@NeilHawkesford A good reminder that people in the USA are spoiled on fuel prices. Here people are practically ready to riot over diesel being $6.85/gallon, which (if I’m doing the conversions right) would be about 135 per liter on your pump.
Of course the main reason it’s such an issue here is that we truck goods over incredibly long distances so it’s a major inflation driver.
@ffmike Thanks. What fascinates me is that in 2000, when diesel hit about 80p a litre (£1.68 equivalent today) Britain practically ground to a halt in fuel protests. You’re right about inflation, even though our distances are far smaller, it’s still affecting prices of everything.
