I enjoyed reading Kev Quirk’s post about building a simple journal. I’m still using Day One, but I am still thinking of moving off it. So I was inspired to build a prototype similar to Kev’s, just to see if something similar works for me. Built using Go instead of PHP, but it also uses Simple CSS.

@lmika very cool and interesting idea. I have actually increased my usage of DayOne lately but for the very quick journal entries I am at a loss on how to really do it in DayOne. I have tried both a summary entry and individual entries of which both interest me but really not sure in the end. So, seeing something simple like this is very nice!

@ericmwalk I noticed with my journal writing habits that I tend to prefer the individual entries, and just write a short post whenever a thought comes to me. Day One is fine for this, but it does feel like it's designed more for the longer posts.
