Does anyone have any tips or information on moving a blog hosted at blogger to micro.blog hosting? There’s lots of info on moving from wordpress, but I haven’t found any on moving from blogger. (The emphasis on wordpress makes sense, it’s just not very helpful in my situation.) : micro.brandonshire.blog

@DrOct micro.blog has a feature that allows you to import the contents of WordPress site/blog. WordPress has a feature that allows you to import the contents of Blogger site -- it'll take some technical wherewithall, but I think you could export from blogger, import to WordPress, and then import the WordPress archive to Micro.blog. That or there may be a way to more directly transform Blogger archive to a WordPress one, which Micro.blog can handle.

@eli I had started to look into importing from blogger to wordpress as an intermediary step, but was hoping there might be some more direct way. I'll also look into the possibility of converting a blogger archive into a wordpress one and see if that seems like a viable option. Thank you!

@davextreme I was actually planning to ask you did your transition some time soon. Did you preserve all the URL's etc? I may have to pick your brain about this a little bit at some point soon.

@davextreme (Which in some cases were inherited from hand-coded webpage to MovableType to TypePad to Vox to Tumblr.)

I did not bother with URL redirection. That’s the one part that makes me want to use Wordpress (or something) rather than Micro.blog hosting. I’d like to fix broken links. For now I’m letting it slide.

@davextreme Is there a way to customize URL's on micro.blog hosted sites?

@DrOct Though now I'm looking at the URL's on my blogger hosted site and they're pretty much the same format so it might be fine.

@DrOct Also... I'm not entirely sure it matters that much. It's not like my old gaming blog had a huge following anyway. (I also don't like broken links but I'm not sure the effort involved in preventing them would be worth it.)

@DrOct I don’t think you can customize the URLs.
