On my bucket list of furniture for my home office (that’s a weird thing to say, I guess) is an old library card catalog, something like this. I’m a library lover and nostalgic, I guess. They’re… remarkably hard to come by and usually pricey. Gonna go look at one tonight that might work, though.

@cjhubbs so cool

@cjhubbs I like those too for the same reason; nostalgia. Do you have a sense for how you’d use it? I’ll be interested to know if the one you look at tonight includes old catalog cards.

@chrisheck Just got done looking at it. Didn’t have the old cards. Decided against it as it had been repainted somewhere after decommissioning and, well, I want one that feels like a library, not like country kitsch.

@cjhubbs I’ve got a friend who uses one for Magic cards!

@dwalbert I will make place to put it. :-) I’m not sure what all I’d do with it, but I’d find a place to put it.

@chrishubbs.com Love this!

@cjhubbs oh, I would absolutely catalog all my books. (Because that’s a good use of my time!)

@cjhubbs Bummer it didn’t work out. So many people (🙋🏻‍♀️) want one the market is tough. I have friends who had one revised into a gorgeous wine/drinkware cabinet. If I ever get one it will be craft supplies!

@cjhubbs I especially like the slide-out shelves.

@cjhubbs I don’t blame you one bit for holding out for one that feels like a library. Especially given how expensive those things are. In the meantime, I hope you enjoy the hunt for just the right one.

@cjhubbs I love these too! I wish we had room for one. I have too many typewriters. :-)
