Cooking up spoon butter in an old pickle jar. What do y’all use your old pickle jars for?

@Ddanielson aren’t they great? Love their sauerkraut, too.

@dwalbert For me it’s not pickle jars but peanut butter. At some point last year I’d accumulated a lot of these and decided I had to stop saving them so I switched to buying bulk peanuts and now I repackage the big bag into all the jars. Then, one by one I blend up a jar of peanuts into peanut butter.

Bonus, home made peanut butter only takes 2-3 minutes in a powerful blender with the creamiest peanut butter I’ve ever had. I found clean-up takes longer so since I have a mess anyway I leave a couple tablespoons in and toss in a can of chickpeas, garlic, etc and make a batch of hummus before I clean-up. 🤓

@Denny It’s great when you can combine the buying in bulk with making yourself. My food processor makes decent peanut butter but it’s only seemed worthwhile when I’ve added a few chocolate chips and made chocolate PB for my daughter. Doesn’t take much chocolate to make a kid think it’s something entirely special.
